A Seminar in Germany

Visit to Germany

Grisha Bostanchyan, Spitak YMCA Youth and Volunteer Programs Coordinator participated in “Volunteer for Europe” Seminar in Görlitz, Germany from November 1-5, 2012. The participants were from Great Britain, Hungary, Georgia, Switzerland, Germany, Macedonia, Slovakia and Spain.

The aim of the seminar was to increase the involvement of the YMCAs in the programs held in the frames of EVS.

This is a great opportunity for the exchange of the volunteers between different European countries. Seminar organizers represented the program, the way to apply for an EVS project and the preconditions. Shortly after it working groups were formed for defining further steps for more  active involvment of the YMCA  in that program. The participants outlined procedures for the involvement, guidance and encouragement of volunteers.

The seminar was success. It was a good experience for our participant. The knowledge he got will be very useful for the further development of the YMCA movement, especially for volunteer programs.

It was also a great opportunity to establish friendly relations with other European YMCAs’ members and will be great help for future cooperation with them.
